Christmas Charity Lockdown Portraits

Christmas Lockdown Doorstep Photo’s

The time came to decorate those doorsteps, porches, and front lawns. Fly on the Wall Photography decided to revive lockdown Doorstep portraits but with a Christmas Twist. We made our villages glow, spreading the Christmas joy, and we pulled on your Christmas jumpers and best clothes early to celebrate our lockdown bubble. It was time to make some happy memories of 2020 Christmas and document this moment. So I set out making the round trip to Bolsover, Creswell, Whitwell, Dronfield, Stanfree, Clowne and Barlborough, all in one weekend. It rained, is shown and it did everything in between. I got more and more festive as the day went on and it really was a lovely experience to meet old and new people along my journey.

50% of the fees will be donated to ‘The Freedom Project‘ to support their good work in our local area. I am pleased to announce that the project raised £200 and a whopping 20 families took part. Many families have got in touch to show support for the project and although they could not take part, have said that they will still donate to the course. This is a lovely gesture and thankyou for your kindness. The project also helped my little business in what has been a rather though year, with a far from average Wedding season and lockdown restrictions having a massive impact on my work.
I hope that I have spread a little festive cheer! After the year we’ve all had, its time to make some magic of our own!

So anyway, I am wondering whether this is something I should consider doing annually, and making a tradition out of it. I would love to here your thoughts on creating an annual Doorstep Christmas Charity Challenge? Christmas Doorstep Portraits… none of the faff heading out to the studio to get the christmas card photo – just hang out on your doorstep for 10 mins. I think we are on to something guys!

And while you are thinking about that, here are some of my hightlights from the last weekend of Novemeber 2020 Lockdown.
